Telemark
Telemark is the oldest skiing technique that originated in Norway in the Telemark region. It is there that skis have been used by the local people for a very long time to get around in difficult winter conditions. The shoes were attached to wooden skis only at the front so that you could walk on them freely. Over time, downhill skiing became a form of fun and entertainment, and finally a form of sports competition in organized competitions.
In the 19th century, local skier Sondre Norheim revolutionized skiing by improving "free heel" bindings, adding a strap around the boot to increase control over the ski, and constructed the model of the first fitted ski. He also perfected a skiing technique still called Telemark. Over time, Telemark was replaced by the Alpine style and was forgotten. It was only in the 1970s that it began to revive again. Currently, Telemark is experiencing a real renaissance and is returning to the ski slopes. Thanks to modern bindings and boots adapted to the needs of today's skiing requirements, we can once again enjoy this beautiful skiing technique. We invite all those who want to try their hand at Telemark skiing and, according to the saying "free your heel, free your mind", feel the full freedom of skiing.
